Shrewsbury House is an academically rigorous school. The boys, from 7-13, are highly able and do benefit from being stretched intellectually and nurtured pastorally.

We recruit subject specialists who have experience in a variety of different spheres. Opportunities for extensive CPD abound and staff members are encouraged to attend courses regularly. TEACHER OF ENGLISH / KS2/KS3 TEACHER (with English specialism)

We are looking to appoint a part time (0.60 FTE), highly motivated, flexible, proactive and committed teacher of English or a KS2/KS3 teacher with English specialism. The successful candidate will be an inspirational teacher, with strong motivational, communication, leadership and administrative skills and will have the ambition and drive to help this department and the Preparatory School to continue its impressive development. The willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the School, are essential .

HEAD OF THEOLOGY, PHILOSOPHY AND RELIGION

Required from September 2021

We are looking to appoint a committed, passionate full-time Head of Theology, Philosophy and Religion (TPR). The successful candidate will be an inspirational teacher with strong motivational, communication, leadership and administrative skills and will have the ambition and drive to help this department and the Preparatory School to continue its impressive development. Experience in teaching TPR is essential. The ability to teach pupils to Common Entrance and Scholarship level, and willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the School, are also essential. Experience in leading a department is desirable.

REGISTRAR

We are looking to appoint a Registrar to support the School’s admission process. This role is full-time (during term time) with a requirement to work 5 weeks during school holidays (dates by mutual agreement and includes School INSET days). Please note that experience in a school is essential, along with good IT skills .

GAP STUDENTS (Fixed Term Contract)

Required from September 2021 to July 2022
Term time only plus 3 days either side of term

Shrewsbury House School is looking to appoint three Gap students for the duration of the new academic year 2021-22.  We offer the opportunity to work with and learn from our experienced team of staff. The Gap Students will be involved in supporting the following subject areas:  Sports, Maths, English and Art plus other subjects. One of the roles will predominantly support the Sport Department, the second will support academic areas as well as the Sport Department and the third will support mainly academic subjects.

Our Gap Students are valued members of our team and we aim to ensure that they gain unique work experience and have an exciting and life-enriching Gap year. The Gap Students have the opportunity to become involved in and provide support to the wider community of the school. The salary is approximately £11,000 for the academic year (40 hours per week, term time only plus 3 days either side of term).
