Changing Face of Kingston High Street

Year 8 visited Kingston town centre to collect data for their ISEB Geography projects.  The investigation was to research the ‘Changing Face of Kingston High Street’.  They collected data on 50 central shop units to allow them to analyse historical changes using a 2010 Goad map.  They also conducted pedestrian counts and shopping bag counts to identify the current footfall to evaluate the present day activity on the High Street. Questionnaires were asked to several helpful shoppers to allow us to gauge current shopping habits and the perceived changes on the High Street in the future. We were lucky to have such ideal weather conditions and the boys must be praised for their high level of interest and engagement in this data collection.  Now for the task of analysing and writing up our findings to secure a great mark on the first 20% of their Common Entrance work in Geography.
