On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome representatives from the British Red Cross and the Marine Conservation Society. Each charity gave a presentation on their work and the projects that would be supported by the monies raised by the SHS community.
At the end of the Assembly, with the help of two of our Community and Sustainability perfects, Arran Blevins and Rafe Buxton, we presented a cheque to each charity, drawn to the impressive sum of £8478. This money had been raised at last year’s Sponsored Run and the charities were thrilled to receive the funds.
The Marine Conservation Society stayed on to deliver some workshops for the Year 5 and Year 6 boys, focussing on sustainability and the importance of the oceans to our planet.
