Discovery Programme – Wetlands Trip

Having spent their previous Discovery Programme lessons learning about the history of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), the life of WWT founder Sir Peter Scott, and the publication of ‘Lost Words’ by Robert MacFarlane, some of our students visited the WWT London Wetlands Centre to choose a ‘Lost Word’ and a species that they would like to write a poem about.

These poems – based on their first hand experience of the species at the Centre and the notes made during their visit – will be written during their forthcoming Discovery Programme lessons. Here are some photos of the students (Jack D, Ben H, Hugo J and Rafe R) and their Discovery Programme leader Dr Buckingham from last Friday’s visit to the WWT London Wetlands Centre.
