As always, the boys were keen to share their knowledge and were able to explain the definition of democracy and how it links to our lives at SHS. From electing our own pupil leaders to putting forward ideas for School Council, they could clearly see how our systems mirror the best of those in our country. They were also able to recognise that with rights come responsibilities, reflecting on the work of the suffragettes and how we should ensure that rights that have been fought for are upheld with humility and respect. As always, each year group contributed valuable thoughts and information to this important debate and impressed us with their focus and listening skills – well done boys.
