IAPS Swimming Finals 2025

Last Saturday, the SHS Swimming Team travelled to the iconic London Aquatics Centre for the IAPS Swimming Finals 2025. This world-renowned venue has seen legends such as Michael Phelps, Tom Daley, and Rebecca Adlington grace its waters, and it was a true privilege for our swimmers to follow in their wake.

Over 4,000 competitors took part in more than 35 qualifying events during the spring term, with only the fastest 1,500 swimmers earning a place at the prestigious finals held in the summer term.

Shrewsbury House was proudly represented by three relay teams across the U10, U11, and U12 age groups, featuring strong performances from Declan M, Jack W, and Max L. All three teams swam brilliantly, narrowly missing out on finals places. Max L also came close to qualifying individually in the front crawl – a fantastic achievement in itself.

It was, however, Declan M and Jack W who secured individual places in the finals, going head-to-head with the top ten swimmers in the country. Both boys were outstanding in their events – Declan finished 9th in the 50m Breaststroke, while Jack placed an incredible 7th in the 50m Backstroke. A truly remarkable effort at national level!

A huge congratulations to all the boys who competed this season.
