Year 8 made the most of travelling to Kingston High Street to conduct a Geography fieldwork investigation. Blessed with glorious late summer weather, the boys collected primary data to explore the changing face of the UK high street. A land use survey, pedestrian count and a shopping questionnaire were used to assess whether Kingston High Street was thriving or struggling. A great opportunity to get outside the classroom and experience some real geography and for one or two of the boys the opportunity to put their foreign languages to use as they encountered overseas visitors on the high street! Over the coming weeks, Common Entrance candidates will use the data collected to write up a fieldwork project which forms part of their final CE mark in geography.
