Nature Reserve Field Trip

The Year 8 boys are studying ecology in Science this term and walked to a local nature reserve where they learned different ways that an area can be sampled, using quadrats and transects to find the biodiversity and abundance of different species. This is part of their CE and scholarship syllabus where they will be able to use their primary data to make suggestions as to why certain species are more abundant than others or the impact humans, roads or developments have on an ecosystem.
