On Monday we recognised the unique strengths and differences that each person brings to our community. I explained that whilst some of these differences are easy to spot, there are differences in the way we learn, think and process which may not be as obvious to others. This applies to adults as well as children and we were delighted to hear from two members of staff who shared their own experiences of having dyslexia and ADD respectively. The boys were fascinated to hear how they had developed strategies to navigate challenges and the ‘superpowers’ their neurodiversity brings them. I asked the boys to be ambassadors of empathy, kindness and openness as we actively seek to understand each other and appreciate the strengths that lie in our differences.
