To celebrate British Science Week, the Science Department organised a range of exciting lunchtime activities, supported by senior boys.
Year 3 took part in Rainbows All Around, exploring the magic of making rainbows with Skittles and designing colourful fabric using chromatography.

Year 4 had great fun creating their own steady hand game.

Year 5 applied their growing scientific knowledge to explore density, building their own density towers and predicting how different substances would layer.

Year 6 tackled the challenge of preparing microscope slides, gaining an appreciation for the tiny scale of cells. They also decorated biscuits and used craft materials to model organelles found in cells.

Year 7 successfully extracted DNA from strawberries—a fascinating experiment!

Beyond the laboratories, the library hosted a thrilling Amazing Animal Adaptations treasure hunt.
A huge thank you to the following Year 8 boys who generously gave up their time to support these activities at lunchtime: Jihun E, Hamish I, Hugo J, Kevin R and William S.
Science Week was a fantastic success, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm across all year groups!
