Year 4 visited the RHS of Wisley Gardens on a cross-curricular trip for art, geography and science this week.
The weather was exceptionally kind with glorious sunshine throughout which allowed us to make the most of our garden visit. Our exploration of the gardens allowed the boys to really look closely to the structure and formations of a variety of plants. The glasshouse was hosting an indoor house plants event and we were able to see the vast array of different plants and plant arrangements which were fantastically put together.
For science, the boys looked at the life cycle of a flowering plant and were able to take a cutting to grow at home. For geography we looked at all the many different adaptations that plants have, including the many different cacti.
For art, the boys we were able to explore the intricate detail of plants which will later be made into clay.
It was a great day of outside learning with lots of knowledge to take away. Well done Year 4.
