The Year 7 concert was a fantastic celebration of the boys’ music making. The concert opened with all the boys in Year 7 being involved in a performance of “Mas Que Nada” by Sérgio Mendes, famously re-recorded in collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas.

There was a diverse range of ensemble performances showcasing collaboration between the boys. These included a singing group performing “How Lucky You Are” from “Seussical the Musical” by Stephen Flaherty, a string ensemble performing the African-American spiritual “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho”, a band performance of “Heart of Gold” by Neil Young and a wind ensemble performing “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson. In between the ensembles, a number of boys performed a selection of piano solos, ranging from pop songs to film music. To finish the concert all the boys returned to the stage to give a rousing performance of “Thick of it” by KSI
