Younger Years
Learning through curiosity and play...
Why Choose Younger Years at SHS?
Choosing the right school for your child’s first step into formal education is an important milestone. At Shrewsbury House, we truly appreciate how special and formative those early years are. Our experienced teachers understand that every child develops at their own pace. They take the time to build strong relationships ensuring each child feels safe supported and ready to thrive.

From the beginning, our children quickly feel part of the wider school enjoying shared spaces, special events and the reassurance of being in a school where older boys act as role models and buddies. Our values of respect, perseverance, integrity, compassion and aspiration are lived every day helping children develop kindness, confidence and a strong sense of self.
Special Events
In Younger Years, special events play an important role in enriching school life. Seasonal celebrations, themed assemblies, and school performances bring pupils together in a warm, supportive environment. These occasions help build confidence, encourage teamwork, and create lasting memories, making school life engaging and enjoyable beyond the classroom.
Facilities
Our facilities are supportive of early learning. Classrooms are bright, well organised, and suited to the needs of younger children, providing a calm and focused learning environment. Dedicated outdoor learning areas allow pupils to explore and learn through play, while access to the swimming pool, playgrounds, and open spaces supports physical development and confidence. These facilities ensure children are active and comfortable as they begin their school journey.
