Head of English Dr Buckingham led an assembly exploring how English develops independent, curious and passionate learners to succeed in a changing world. Pupils discussed an insightful video on reading and previewed upcoming competitions like BBC 500 Words, House Poetry and Wimbledon BookFest.
Pupils are encouraged to take Accelerated Reader quizzes; scoring over 85% builds their word count towards the one million words needed for the Millionaire Club’s Tea Party on World Book Day 2027.
